Early Treatment Two-Phase Treatment

What to look for?

At Braces+, we are passionate about what we do and love helping kids develop a healthy, long-lasting beautiful smile that can ensure your child’s long-term dental and most importantly overall health.

The Canadian Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have an early orthodontic evaluation by age seven. Having an early consultation with Dr. Eimar can help your child maximize the opportunity to accomplish the ideal healthy smile, functional, and aesthetic result that will remain stable throughout your life.

What is two-phase treatment?

Two-phase orthodontic treatment is a very specialized process that encompasses tooth straightening and physical, facial changes. The major advantage of a two-phase treatment is to achieve an outstanding smile with an excellent profile avoiding a flattened profile and thinning of the lips.

Phase One

The goal of phase 1 treatment in children is to help the jaw develop in a way that will accommodate all the adult teeth and enabling them to chew more effectively. Also, it provides a health smile by positioning of the teeth and jaws for an attractive face and profile. And for many patients, there is improvement in self-esteem at a young age.

Resting period

In this phase, it is a waiting game! Waiting for adult teeth to erupt.

Phase Two

The goal of phase 2 is to move permanent teeth into their final positions ensuring a maximum aesthetic smile and functional bite outcomes!
