What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontics treatment modality using a series of clear, removable plastic (BPA-Free) trays – called aligners – to straighten teeth. These clear aligners fit directly on your teeth and they are virtually invisible, so no one has to know they are there. Furthermore, the aligners are easy to pop in and out to eat, drink, brush, and floss, letting you enjoy your favourite foods and making oral hygiene as easy as ever! You can finally get the straighter (and healthier) smile you always dreamed about with very little impact on your daily activities!

What are the steps?

Treatment begins with a consultation to answer all of your questions. Not all dentists or orthodontists work with Invisalign®. Dr. Eimar is a specially trained provider who will develop an individualized treatment plan for your best results.

Once it has been determined that you are a candidate for Invisalign®, a team member of the Braces+ will digitally scan your teeth and
submitted to Invisalign®.

Dr. Eimar uses the information from special software, in combination with your diagnostic records and your 3D model to prescribe teeth movements needed for a wonder smile.

Based on your individualized plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners are made specifically for you.

What is the difference between Invisalign®
and braces?

Not only are the aligners virtually invisible, but they are also removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal or wires. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete. For those who are active in contact sports, Invisalign® allows you to continue wearing your aligners without having to worry about any sharp brackets cutting your mouth.

Does Invisalign hurt?

No. Invisalign does not hurt. However, you can expect to feel some minor pressure/discomfort when wearing your Invisalign tray
because your teeth are moving.

How often do I need to wear my Invisalign trays? How often do I switch my aligners?

For the best result, you should wear the Invisalign trays for 22 hours a day. You will have to replace your aligner trays every 7 days with the next in the series. By doing so your teeth will move — little by little, week by week —until you have processed through to your treatment goals.

How often do I need to come in for appointments during Invisalign treatment?

To make sure things are going well, you will have a check-up in the office every 2 to 3 months to monitor your progress. This may vary from patient to patient depending on Dr. Eimar’s recommendations.

How much does Invisalign cost?

The cost for Invisalign treatment varies from patient to patient, and depends on the severity of the case. At your consultation appointment, the cost will be presented to you (NO HIDDEN FEES).

Is Invisalign more expensive than braces?

Invisalign is similar in cost to braces. At Braces+ we don’t want our patients to pick a treatment based on price. However, the cost of Invisalign treatment varies from patient to patient and depends on the severity of the case. At your consultation appointment, the cost will be presented to you (NO HIDDEN FEES).

What happens after my treatment is complete? Do I need retainers?

All of our orthodontic patients are instructed to wear their retainers for 6 months full-time, and then at night indefinitely. Teeth, like every other part of our body, have a tendency to move with age; thus, lifetime retention of your results is necessary.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment time varies depending on the severity of the misaligned teeth, but generally last between 12-18 months.
